There is a ton of questions that may have brought you to this page, and depending on who you ask, there can be a vastly different answer to this question. With new technologies, growing language, a higher degree of expectation, and the ability to adapt the user experience to the vast number of people using a website, the role of a web designer is always in a state of growth.

One thing you must take into consideration is that all people are different. You will never find two web designers that are the same. They both will have different ideas and quirks, even though they both may design the same. Some will prefer to use an Open Source CMS and others will call that copping out and want to code everything from scratch.
